How the Gotta See It Meter™ works
Each team gets a strength from its share of poll points (average of AP and Coaches; the CFP committee ranking takes over once it exists), so #1 is worth about 25 and a team just receiving votes about 1 — and any team receiving votes gets its floor raised so prominent programs outside the Top 25 aren't scored like anonymous ones. A game adds both teams' strength plus a matchup bonus that rewards two good teams, then bonuses for rivalry games, conference games, neutral-site kickoffs, the TV slot (biggest for ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC/ESPN, smaller for cable and streaming), a power-vs-power bump when two P4 teams meet, a first-place bump when both teams lead their conference standings, a bump whenever a ranked team (CFP, AP, or Coaches) is on the field (bigger for a top-10 team, biggest for a top-5), and a bigger stakes bonus when both teams are ranked (more when both are top 10, most when both are top 5). Notre Dame's games against power-conference opponents earn the conference-game bonus too — independence shouldn't cost a de facto playoff eliminator five points. Tune the weights above. Times are shown in Eastern time; kickoffs and networks for later weeks fill in as they are announced (usually 6–12 days out). Sources: schedules, kickoff times and networks from ESPN; AP Top 25 (Preseason: #1 Ohio State, #2 Oregon, #3 Georgia, #4 Notre Dame, #5 Texas); USA Today Coaches Poll; spreads and totals from FanDuel via The Odds API (lines move — check the book before you bet). Every NCAA FBS game, every week. Data refreshes daily in season — kickoff times, networks, lines, and forecasts firm up as the week goes on.
